Description
of the Clown Loach
The Clown Loach is a very popular freshwater tropical fish
originally from Indonesia. The fish gets the name 'clown' from
its bright colors and stripes but it is also able to perform! It
can swim upside-down and even plays dead! They are not
recommended for the beginner and can grow to up to 30cm so will
require a very large tank.

Gills enable the Clown Loach to breathe. Gills consist of thin

large bony plate called an operculum. Some fish species however
have lungs and breathe air.
