The Red Rainbow Fish is only found in Lake Sentani in Jayapura,
West Papua which is a province of Indonesia. They are also known
as Salmon Red Rainbowfish
due their coloring and Irian Jaya Rainbowfish.. Up until 2007
the region of West Papua was known as West Irian Jaya.

and helps the Red Rainbow Fish to move through

species use their slime to feed their young.

Why do Red Rainbow Fish have gills?
Gills enable the Red Rainbow Fish to breathe. Gills consist of thin

large bony plate called an operculum. Some fish species however
